Recipe: Maple Bacon Cheddar Garlic Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

Biscuits:

2 cups

all-purpose flour

1 tbsp

baking powder

1 tsp

salt (I use Kosher)

1/2 tsp

garlic powder

slices bacon, diced into 1/4-inch pieces (I use thick-cut bacon from a local butcher, if your bacon is thin you might want to use 5 or 6 slices.)

1 cup

finely grated sharp cheddar cheese

2 tbsp

unsalted butter, cut into small pieces and chilled

1/4 cup

maple syrup

1/3 cup

buttermilk

1/3 cup

milk (I used 2%)

Topping:

2 tbsp

unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp

finely chopped fresh parsley (or 1/4 tsp. dried)

1/2 tsp

garlic powder

salt
