for the cake:

dutch-processed cocoa powder

light brown sugar

dark stout, such as Guinness*

vanilla extract

for the frosting:

1 cup

creamy peanut butter

6 tbsp

unsalted butter, room temperature

2 1/2 cups

powdered sugar

2 tbsp

milk (this will depend on the consistency of your peanut butter. start with 2 and work up)

for the ganache/everything else:

1/2 cup

bitter- or semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup

heavy cream
