Made as a side dish for a family gathering (main course was tamales, also had Mexican rice, guacamole, etc)). We had 13 adults and 17 kids so I tripled the recipe which was the perfect amount when we had all the other food. Everyone LOVED them, including the two babies who were a mess after! They were so easy to make and inexpensive too. I had to rush to get them ready in time, so I “simmered” on high, stirring constantly, then brought the heat down again when we were ready to serve. I held back a little on the garlic because we have some family members with blander preferences, but when I make them again, I’ll use the suggested amount. It’s a winner!
