This is a great vanilla base. Creamy and ripens really well. Not sure it really made a difference to cook the cherries. I have another recipe that doesn’t cook them. I also threw in chopped chocolate to make cherry chocolate chip and added a little almond flavoring. I used only 3 egg yolks because I don’t like an eggy ice cream.
