Ive made this bread more times than I can possibly count. It turns out EVERY TIME, without fail. Perfect served with most meals, and the leftovers make the most amazing French toast! This recioe makes two giant loaves :)
So easy my husband made it! Such a great recipe to have on hand especially when you are in a pinch, we had all the ingredients at home!
This is the French bread my mother made when I was young. It was a favorite of mine then and still is! For extra points sprinkle sesame seeds on the loaves after applying the egg wash...so good!
No fail is right...I forgot to add the yeast/water mixture until the end but it still worked! And using the convection oven made the crust so golden and crunchy. This will become a staple at our house.

I’m not a bread maker, but grocery pickup forgot my French bread, so I gave this ago. If it worked out for me, it truly is no fail. I followed most the directions, but missed some of the stir downs because I was dealing with kids and it still worked. Delicious and beautiful.
