cake flour (not self-rising)*

baking soda

1/2 tsp

kosher salt

3/4 cup

light brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup

all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp

ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp

kosher salt

3 tbsp

cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces

3/4 cup

chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup

powdered sugar

2 tbsp

real maple syrup

*I have also made this cake with all-purpose flour with good results.
