freshly chopped basil (more to taste)

uncooked lasagna noodles (broken into bite sized pieces)

cup grated parmesan cheese

shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Ricotta cheese (for serving)
NOTES
Could use ground beef with a bit of fennel and oregano to replace the sausage
