Unsweetened Cocoa Powder- 1 1/3 cups.
Flour (AP- 1 1/2 cups)
1/4 tsp
Salt-
Butter- 1 cup (room temperature.)
Sugar alternative- 2 cups equivalent to sugar.
Vanilla Extract- 2 teaspoons.
Eggs- 2.
For the middle.
3 cups
Confectioners Sugar/powdered alternative. See post for details.-
Shortening/butter- 1 cup total. Using half and half works best. However (not everyone likes working with both. It is your preference.)
Optional- Liquid extract for taste 1 teaspoon and/or food coloring for color.
