heavy cream (sorry, you cannot substitute skim milk here)

prepared coffee
1/2 tsp
good vanilla extract
1 tbsp
peppermint extract or 2 tbsp. peppermint schnapps {optional}

white baking chocolate, finely chopped

oz, semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 tsp
shortening or butter, divided
{alternately – use 16 oz. of one or the other if you do not want white chocolate, etc}

– 3 large candy canes, crushed
Confectioners’ sugar for coating, if desired
Cocoa powder for coating, if desired
Holiday sprinkles
