Butcher Box New York Strip Steaks (mine were about 6-8 oz each) (You can use any cut of steak)

low-sodium soy sauce (This is used to provide liquid to marinate the meat and make it juicy. )
1 tsp
liquid smoke (or a cap full)
1 tbsp
McCormick’s Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning or Steak Rub (or season to taste) (See recipe notes for instructions on how to create your own steak rub)
1/2 tbsp
unsweetened cocoa powder
salt and pepper
melted butter (optional)
