granulated sugar

2 sticks

unsalted butter, at room temperature

large eggs, at room temperature

1 3/4 cups

cake flour (use all purpose flour if you like)

1 1/2 tsp

baking powder

1/2 tsp

salt

1/2 cup

buttermilk

glaze

1 1/2 cups

powdered sugar

lemon juice to thin, start with 1 tablespoon and add more as necessary
