broth (I used low sodium chicken broth)

of crushed tomatoes

For the Burgers:

1 lb

lean ground beef

1 tbsp

dried minced onions

1 tsp

kosher salt (more to taste)

1 tsp

coarse ground black pepper(more to taste)

cabbage, very finely chopped (see note)
