INGREDIENTS
Italian bread such as a simple baguette -1. A French baguette may work for you as well (usually a more crispy bread).
Garlic- 2 cloves minced or chopped.
Mozzarella Cheese– 1/4 to 1/2 cup. However, you could use any creamy white cheese that does not have a strong taste instead. Some folks even use a spreadable cream cheese in this recipe.Use as much as you need to spread on the bread.
Olive Oil- 1 1/2 tablespoons.
Italian tomatoes – 6 average size sliced or as many in a smaller size to fit the bread. I suggest using a smaller variety such as Roma (plum) tomatoes or a cherry sized tomato for an easy recipe such as this one.
Basil – 1 cup, chopped or cut to size.
Capers are an optional ingredient that I have added to this recipe
Balsamic vinegar -1/4 for topping.
However, you could just go with a simple olive oil instead.
