Recipe: Mexican Pizza

Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.

Mix in milk with fork until dough forms.

Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth.

Roll into 13-inch circle and place on ungreased cookie sheet or pizza tin.

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

Meanwhile, cook beef and garlic in a skillet, breaking up meat into bits.

When meat is lightly browned, drain off excess fat.

Spread pizza dough with beans, then spread with meat mixture.

Layer on green chile, then taco sauce.

Sprinkle with onions.

Pour over taco sauce.

Top with cheese.

Bake for about 20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese bubbling.
