Italian sausage links, sliced (I used sweet but I bet this would be fabulous with spicy)

white wine (or chicken broth)
1 28 ounce can
of diced tomatoes (this creates a moderate amount of sauciness, which for me was the right balance. If you like a ton of extra sauce, you might consider adding a small 8 oz. can of tomato sauce or puree as well).

salt + a little extra to taste for your veggies at the beginning
1/4 tsp
black pepper + a little extra to taste for your veggies at the beginning

fettuccine (fresh, if it's available)
Romano cheese and crushed red pepper for sprinkling
