old-fashioned rolled oats

sliced almonds, roughly chopped pecans or unsalted cashews

1/4 cup

packed brown sugar

1/2 tbsp

grated orange zest

1/2 tsp

ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp

grated fresh nutmeg

1/4 cup

unsalted butter

3 tbsp

maple syrup

1/2 cup

shredded or flaked coconut, toasted (see tips below)

1/2 cup

coarsely chopped dried fruit (raisins, dates, figs, blueberries, cranberries and/or apricots)
