she didn't have eggs so she used applesauce as a binding agent. i know i've used this as a substitute

judging from the recipe she also did her best to conserve the ingredients she has on hand - she uses only a cup or

she only uses the chocolate bar so the cookies don't really come out “chocolatey” but it certainly adds some flavour

ginger to the recipe just to add a bit more flavour. i think she would have if she had it available. 🙂
