i purchased the letters from porters

using an exacto knife

start carving around the outside of the letter

you are going to do this all the way around your letter and the front will come right off

you might need to sand of the edges if they are jagged

grab a heap load of mod podge
5 gal
then take a bucket and sprinkle your glitter onto the wet mod podge

shake the glitter around a tad to make sure you've cover the inside of the letter
