large eggs, whites and yolks separated

1/2 cup

plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided

teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 tsp

pure almond extract

1/2 tsp

cream of tartar

1 1/2

cups Bob’s Red Mill Almond Flour

1 tsp

baking powder (I recommend aluminum free)

1/4 tsp

kosher salt

Zest of 2 medium lemons (about 2 tablespoons)

Optional for serving: sliced berries, toasted slivered almonds, whipped cream
