below i will give you my best tips and hacks to prepare and organize your home without creating too much clutter but providing the most convenience

read the most important ways to prepare your home and then i will go into details room by room at the bottom

get it done before you bring your baby home

don't put off these important ways to prepare and organize your home. you'll be happy you got it all complete before you have your baby there

portable play yard & diaper station

don't forget to stock up on the diaper genie refills too because you will go through those very quickly in the beginning- newborns go through 10-12 diapers a day

extra onesies/sleepers

i love the my breast friend pillow and think it's the best one out there. i had the boppy

tummy time activity mat

i have a tummy time mat set up in our living room and also in our bedroom. i have one new mat and another i got as a hand-me-down

tummy time should start as soon as you bring the baby home form the hospital to start building their core

here is my list of top must have toys

i have a basket of baby toys in my living room

you should keep in your diaper bag

baby gear

you should have some kind of baby gear in most rooms that you will be in

extra boxes of diapers and wipes

your newborn baby will most likely sleep next to your bed

the swivel lets your baby to get as close to you as possible while still keeping them safely in a bassinet and it allows gliding movement

the halo bassinet also has convenient pockets on the side where you can store extra bassinet

dohm sound machine

your baby will be in your room

this humidifier helps relieve congestion which most babies will get in the winter. you'll want to have this on when baby is sleeping to clear their airways since newborns are prone to get congested

also keep plenty of burp cloths there if your baby is a spitter

water bottle

always bring up a glass of water

drying rack

you'll need a drying to all your pieces from the pump and bottles. don't forget to sterilize all of these items before use

get this done before the baby comes

you'll need these munchkin brushes because you can't get into those little bottle necks

this summer infant bath is great

have extra wash cloths and towels on hand in the same place you store your tub. you shouldn't use the same wash cloth more than once before washing it

baby monitor

i highly recommended to wyze camera to use as your baby monitor. it's not marketed as one

it has great quality video and wifi so you see the baby when you're out of the house

you should also use a vusee monitor shelf so you put the monitor up higher and get a full view of the crib

we used to attach the monitor to the c but once our baby started sitting up and reaching

newborn and size diapers to start - you'll use at least 0 a day

pack of wipes - i love water wipes because they are the most and safe

diaper cream

have multiples of your most used items

if you have multiples of your most used items

create stations throughout your home

i'll go into details on what should be in these stations below

baskets and storage bins will be your best friend

organizer caddies. this helps to keep everything you need in one little area

another organizer basket i love is this diaper caddy organizer by mollieollie. there are so many compartments to keep all the little items seen and easily accessbible

they go in the closet

wash and sanitize all newborn items before use

make sure you clean and sanitize all nipples

when you return from the hospital after delivery

living room/family room

we have ours in a corner in the dining room

you'll need changing pad liners

burp cloth

hand sanitizer

gauze & vasoline

if you don't have enough room in the side pockets

i have my month old's diapers in the side pockets so i needed to set up an additional space

nursing pillow

if you're nursing

the boppy still causes you to slouch down while nursing

it also allows you to walk around while nursing- multitasking is a must

baskets of toys

newborns will love those plush

in our living room

if you only get one thing though

basket of burp cloths

we keep a bin of burp cloths

hopefully you stocked up on diapers on wipes if you found some sales so keep all of this easily accessible

if you have a closet close by

parent's bedroom

bassinet

the side closest to you is able to be pushed down

sleeper pajamas in there too

humidifier

diaper changing station

to limit the amount of waking up you have to do in the middle of the night

you don't need a station

during night time feedings

have a night by your bed and the bassinet

these night lights are great and have a sensor to turn on only when it's dark. put one in your hallway
