so i did jus that

i decided to start my long awaited pallet wall

i had desperately been itching to decorate this space above my wine fridge

completely boring in my eyes . . . and i wanted to tie the bar area into the kitchen area…

to start i a of plywood the size of my wall

i only had to cut the top at an angle

hubby brought home some pallets that had been sitting in the sun

but then we had the tedious task of popping out some of the old rusty nails . . . ugh

i pulled out all the different stain colors i had! including one that i had never used

wash pickling stain! ended up being my favorite

all the planks were different sizes. . . so i had to line them up by size and varying colors

the first couple rows were a challenge just because i had to cut them at an angle

but once i got past that??? smooth sailing

half way done!! woot woot

now time to decorate . . . i propped up my bar sign & arrow shelf

i loved the size of the letters . . . but i had my heart on the metal industrial look

i then brushed on this silvery gun metal color metallic paint

ready to see the finished look

found this orange auto shop metal shelf at a garage sale

added a metal industrial

what do you think??? i love my bar area!!! the wine in its designated area

the baseboards weren't even completely up from our flooring project

there was no need to wait any longer

here i come

this is the space i was determined to tackle

this project was fun

hope you love it as much as i do

hubs secured the plywood to the wall

they were completely weathered! yay! exactly what i was looking for

my son and i took them apart

here are all the planks from pallets

i stained all the planks different colors.. this was soooo easy to do and therapeutic

i just threw on my music . . and started brushing away

didn't have to be perfect! just put the stain on

i started laying out my first couple of rows just to get and idea of how i wanted to proceed on the wall

all done!! i just love the varying colors

turned out better than i had ever dreamed

time to paint the letters and get started

letting the letters . . . almos done

i love how it perfectly ties into the kitchen and decor

finished off the look
