Caramel Apple Cake with Salted Caramel Buttercream

jarred caramel dessert sauce (I used Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce)

vanilla extract

large eggs (at room temperature)

1 1/2 cups

buttermilk (at room temperature)

apple (peeled, cored, and finely diced)

granulated sugar

1 1/2 cups

buttermilk

butter (divided use)

1 tsp

baking soda

3/4 tsp

powdered sugar
