Salted Caramel Sauce

INGREDIENTS

1 cup

granulated sugar

1/4 cup

+ 2 Tbsp water

1/4 cup

salted butter, (diced into 1 Tbsp pieces)

1/2 cup

heavy cream

1/2 tsp

fine sea salt, (or more to taste)


NOTES

  • remove from heat when the sugar mixture reaches 330 F for a light, Werther's taste, up to 345 F for a darker, full flavor. I added 1 TBSP of corn syrup to prevent crystalizing.
