Banana Oatmeal Bars

INGREDIENTS

2 1/3 cups

gluten free oats (I used Bob’s Red Mill rolled gluten free oats)

1 tsp

ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp

baking soda

1/2 tsp

baking powder

1/2 tsp

salt

bananas (very ripe is best)

1 tbsp

vanilla extract or paste

1/4 cup

unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup

maple syrup (agave or honey (for vegetarian option))

1/4 cup

hemp hearts (optional for extra protein)

1 cup

vegan chocolate chips (I prefer Enjoy Life – use as many as you prefer. I made half with and half without as my husband is allergic to cocoa.)
