Fried Apples with Apple Caramel Sauce

granny smith apples (peeled and cut into very small pieces)

gala apples (peeled and cut into very small pieces)

1/2 cup

white granulated sugar

1/2 cup

light brown sugar

1 cup

walnuts (these are optional, leave out if you have nut allergies)

1 1/2 tsp

cinnamon (roasted saigon cinnamon is amazing in this)

1/2 tsp

nutmeg

1 1/2 cups

sugar

1/4 cup

water

2 tbsp

butter

1/2 cup

heavy cream

1/2 tsp

good quality vanilla

2 tbsp

sauce drained from your fried apple pan (this adds so much flavour)

1 cup

heavy cream

2 tbsp

confectioner’s sugar

Garnish with chopped walnuts if desired!
